Ammonium Perchlorate

Ammonium perchlorate (AP) is an oxidizer that is primarily used as a key component in solid rocket propellant. It is used in the aerospace, national defense and commercial sectors. AMPAC’s production of aerospace-grade AP began more than 50 years ago in Nevada, U.S., utilizing a proprietary process of electrolytic oxidation, crystallization, screening and blending that yields a chromate-free product. AMPAC is leader in the field, and since 1998 it continues to be the only North American producer of AP.
