The pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries constitute a large part of our overall business, and are served primarily by AMPAC Fine Chemicals (AFC). Active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates manufactured by AFC have applications in three areas: drugs to treat disorders of the central nervous system, anti-viral medications (including HIV and hepatitis treatments) and oncology.

American Azide manufactures sodium azide, a chemical component in certain pharmaceutical intermediates, among other applications. American Azide is the sole manufacturer of sodium azide in the United States.

Aerospace Industry
AMPAC has a long legacy of service in the aerospace industry. Western
Electrochemical Company (WECCO), our perchlorates business, is the sole
North American producer of ammonium perchlorate (AP), which is the
primary oxidizing agent in solid propellant rockets, booster motors and
missiles used in space exploration, commercial satellite transportation and
national defense programs.

AMPAC In-Space Propulsion, including AMPAC-ISP Europe, is a leading supplier of propulsion components and systems for commercial and defense applications, with international offices in the UK and Ireland. Products include bipropellant and monopropellant engines, propellant tanks, valves, regulators and electric propulsion. Our propulsion systems support missile defense, global communications and space exploration.

Fire Protection Industry
Halotron manufactures and distributes halocarbon-based clean fire-extinguishing agents worldwide with a wide variety of commercial, industrial, maritime and military applications.

Water Treatment Industry
PEPCON Systems (PSI) designs, manufactures and services water treatment equipment for water and wastewater disinfection, potable water chlorination, marine organism and odor control.
